Eden Gardens State Park | Santa Rosa Beach, FL

Eden Gardens State Park is 163 acres of serene nature tucked up in Point Washington forest, nestled on the Choctawhatchee Bay, lush with seasonal flowers and trees, plus the site of a historic homestead you can tour. A “secret garden” escape for many locals (including us!) as a favorite spot to spend Sunday picnics on a blanket in the grass under a canopy of trees. When the beach is overcrowded or you need somewhere to unplug - this is the place.

This is also a lovely venue for a family photo session or to reserve for a wedding. (We have personally attended one here and it was beautiful.) Originally built in 1897, the Wesley House is available for guided tours. Additionally, Eden Gardens State Park hosts a Christmas Luminaries event once a year that is an unforgettable experience! Each room of The Wesley House is uniquely decorated and visitors can vote on their favorite one. Walking paths are beautifully lined with candles all around the property guiding you to live music, hot cocoa and cookies with Santa making this event a family tradition.

The Gingko Tree here is a sight to behold when it begins to lose its leaves once a year (usually late Fall/early Winter). It’s leaves turn a vibrant yellow hue until the last leaf falls, typically over a day or two.
